really liked it

I read this shortly after reading its "twinner", "Desperation", and at first it was a bit of a jolt seeing the same characters in new situations, and I kept trying to relate it back to "Desperation". I would suggest not to do that.

While the characters have the same names, and there are similar plot points, the two books are different, and can each stand on their own. Where "Desperation" is a ghost town story, where danger could be lurking behind every corner, "The Regulators" plays out more like an episode of the Twilight Zone, with strange shifts in reality, an unseen menace in a perfect neighbourhood, and growing distrust among a group of survivors as they get picked off one by one (the novel shares this trait with "Desperation").

Not the best King, but not the worst either. An enjoyable read, with a pretty quick pace.
