it was amazing
bookshelves: 2012, picture-books, my-sons-liked-it

I love this so much, and my sons loved it, too. The yarn is such a powerful metaphor, so resonant. I love the way Jon Klassen gave the girl a quiet half smile, like the Mona Lisa. I love the coziness of the snow-scapes. My boys thought the knitted outfits for the house and mail-box were hilarious, but I, being familiar with knitters who knit-bomb public signs, benches and statues, found it cool and hip.

Also, we all loved that the forest animals from I Want My Hat Back were featured in one scene wearing the girl's sweaters.
