it was ok

I think I just don't like mystery novels very much. This one had a somewhat intricate plot, but I found it pretty predictable after the first 1/3 of the book - once the pieces are set up, you (or at least I) can pretty much see where they need to go. This in itself isn't such a problem, my real issue with the book was that I didn't really like any of the characters, so I wasn't all that invested in what was going to happen to them. The two daughters especially were basically unbearable. The only character who is even slightly likeable basically decides that the rest are assholes and stops caring about what's going on with them, and it's hard not to agree with her.
