By Walter Dean Myers

I really enjoyed the format of this book. It is written as a screenplay which really makes it a page turner. I thought Myers did a wonderful job of talking about real life scenarios (sad ones!) in an accessible and tasteful way. Every time I took a break from reading I tried to figure out what was going to happen. I had a plot idea that I was pretty sure was going to happen, but it didn’t! Overall, this is a good book, but definitely more exciting for youths than for adults.

Violence: Plenty!

Sex: Discussion of prison rape

Drugs/Alcohol: Yes

Language: Fairly mild, less than I was expecting
