Having three kids taught me I have an incredibly high pain threshold. Uneven made me realize I'm not a masochist, in spite of my ability to take pain. At least, not yet. ;-)
I loved this peek into two S/M wired lives. It made me "get it." I understand the B/D D/s end of the equation - but S/M is more elusive to me. These characters made sense to me, and Crow took me under their skin, their defenses - right to the bizarre details of perception that make a book come alive. It's graphic and violent but also tender and respectful. I'm still thinking about it and I will definitely read it again.
