really liked it

This novel was a good read although I have to say I preferred "Living through Hope". The book is crammed with local historical information occasionally to the detriment of the tale. Again comparing with LTH, the characters were more to the forefront and easier to identify with in LTH, this book felt more as though the characters were more observers than the driving force behind the story.
Having said that it was a very interesting read and the historical detail is well thought out, the prose is flowing making the book very readable.
