really liked it

I listened to this book on tape while on a 13 hour drive by myself (how did that happen?!?) It was so incredibly moving. I LOVED it. It helped me to better understand the Iranian Revolution (also read Persepolis if you are interested in this topic). It also helped me to better understand the Muslim community and the power structure that subverts the Islamic faith for its own power and and advancement. I came away being so thankful that I am American. I love my country, with all its faults and failings; I have never felt held back or afraid to go for it! I feel for people who are born into lives of submission and mental and physical cruelty. Lastly, I am deeply proud that Azar Nafisi is a Baltimorean! I hope I run into her one day so I can thank her for this gift of a book.
