Pete is having a rough freshman year. He is supposed to be a baseball god at this school, but a devastating injury ruins his chances of playing again. And if he can't play baseball or basketball, will his best friend want to stick by him? Without sports, Pete is forced to take up other interests, which is okay, because he has always had an interest in photography. After he is placed in an advanced photography class, Pete encounters not both a girl and a way to spend his time. But he has plenty to worry about at home. Pete's grandfather, the person who taught him about life and photography, has been slipping lately. It starts with little things- forgetfulness- but it quickly becomes easy for Pete to see that something is very wrong. Pete's mom doesn't want to admit anything is wrong and his dad is always working. His grandfather wants Pete to keep his secret but Pete isn't sure that he can and for how long.
