This story featured a sarcastic, attitude-giving, strong heroine and an alpha male is-he-good-or-bad hero on a vampire adventure. It was full of twists and turns and surprising revelations that kept the action moving. The story was exciting and fresh.

Jill was a reluctant heroine who got sucked into the adventure by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Throughout the whole story, she maintained an innocent victim vibe that showed she just wanted to survive and escape back to "real life".

There were some hot and steamy scenes, and lots of profanity. This is not a book you would give to someone who objects to strong language. It is not used lightly, but is definitely very present.

I listened to the audiobook version, and would highly recommend it. The narrator had an attitude that fit Jill's character perfectly. She was invested in the story, and sounded true. It really felt like Jill was telling her story, not like you were listening to a reading of someone else's story.
