really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult, zz-reviewed

This is the kind of book you want to read alone - where no one can watch you cry throughout the book. Beautifully written and touching. I loved the way the author decided to end the book, especially knowing what I know from reading the second. Each book had its own beginning, middle and end and she didn't use a cliffhanger to entice you to read the next one. You don't need it anyway, you'll immediately want to read the second book.

A suggestion to anyone who finishes If I Stay and wants to start Where She Went, don't read the Goodreads summary of Where She Went. It gives away more than you knew at the end of If I Stay, and personally I wish I'd been left in the dark until I was actually reading Where She Went.
