it was ok

Peter Warlock is a magician with actual magical powers. He and a group of six others meet each week and hold a seance. They always alert the authorities to any potential problems - anonymously of course. When their latest meeting shows a rather startling future event, they find themselves on the receiving end of a hit put out by the Order of Astrum - a secret group from the UK who happen to be responsible for Peter's parents' murders. In order to save themselves and all of New York, they must identify their potential killer and his plans for the city.

I wanted to like this one. It had the potential for a pretty good paranormal mystery, but it just didn't work. Too many things happened with little or no explanation to back them up. My biggest complaint, however, was the superhero complex. Peter's girlfriend would rather moan about their relationship than worry about the potential mass execution that could happen in New York! Each promising element of the plot ended up falling short and I couldn't get over the continuous returns to the girlfriend issue at all.
