I enjoyed the story of Susan and Roland. I can see why fans would be frustrated with this book after waiting so many years, as the main story doesn't progress much, but I found it comforting in a way, more like fantasy I usually read. Strangely, though, I think I prefer King's non-fantasy so far, despite the popularity of his Dark Tower series. Maybe it's all the hype or having put off reading the series for so long. Still, I'm warming up to the characters, the ideas, the language. Ka and face of your father, indeed.
