liked it

A bit of hit and miss. Don't let that Bill Bryson helped compile and edit it fool you. The chapters are written by various scientific writers - or commentars of scientific writing. There are great chapters and poorly written ones. Good chapters about dull subjects and dull chapters. about exciting debates. This is a book for a science historian fanatic.
