The Lady of the Rivers (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels, #1)
I am not a history buff but I love being exposed to new information through historical fiction. It often leads me to independent research. That was true of this book. I knew vaguely about the "War of the Roses" referred to here as the "Cousins War," but really didn't know about the connection between England and France or the bloodiness and number of battles in this civil war. I am alway drawn to Gregory's focus on women's history in her work. Here, she does not disappoint with interesting scenes of power and leadership among women in the English court.
