Chris Grabenstein is an excellent writer but he excels at writing for young children or young adults, especially the boys.

Riley Mack has a group of friends that the local policy have labeled as "troublemakers". Riley only caused real trouble once when he tried to steal an ice cream cake. Since then he has spent his time trying to right wrongs, especially when those who are wronged are smaller and weaker than the bullies who go after them.

Riley is very creative in his plots and plans and his friends are his lifelines. With one who is good at acting and disguises, one who does the technology and the new member of the group who is great with puzzles and locks, Riley can be creative in his plans to foil the bully's in town, especially the worst bully, son of the local police chief.

I'm looking forward reading more in this series.
