A great follow up to A Game of Thrones. Once again, lots of intricate character interactions as well as characters evolving. Some you love, some you hate--it's how these books work and it's an aspect that should be highly valued. George R.R. Martin lets these characters come alive, he doesn't pander to his fans wishes.

These books are a real treat and this one adds some fantastic characters--my favorite being Jaqen H'ghar, though Brienne and Davos are also wonderful.

It's fascinating to see the differences between the six individuals competing for control of Westeros. How some need to mature a bit and lose their naivete while the others seem better suited and others need to change their nature a bit.

I love to hear about Arya and Jon, and even Sansa--as she is undoubtedly the best to have been kidnapped (no other Stark child would have done as well). I am excited to continue reading this series.
