it was amazing
bookshelves: 2012, adventure, boy-books, audiobooks, library, teen, speculative-fiction, adult

I don't remember the last time I was THIS into a book. I'm not claiming this is high literature or anything, but holy crap is it engrossing and fun. The audio is fantastic (Wil Wheaton narrates), but I couldn't resist getting the dead-tree edition from the library too, just so I didn't have to wait another WEEK of commuting to see how everything turns out. Fantastic pacing, high adventure, well-drawn characters and action. And a ton of '80s references, most of which I got, which makes me feel like some kind of elite nerd, though in a good way.

High crossover possibilities (teen/adult) so I'd be comfortable recommending this to either group.

Jen Petro-Roy I loved this a ridiculous amount.

Brandy Yeah, I was surprised how much I loved it and how much I couldn't wait to get back to it, any time I had to pause in reading (or listening). Way better than I'd expected it to be.
