really liked it

Now that I look back I really struggled through the first in the series 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.' It just didn't interest me the way I expected from reading other reviews. 'The Girl Who Played With Fire' got off to a much better start and I found myself more intrigued and drawn into the world of Lisbeth. However, despite the undoubtedly intricate and skillfull plotting there was a middle 'chunk' that made we want to hurry on and turn a few pages more quickly than I should. Revelations in the final third of the book were, for me, just a little too far fetched - with the bad guys becoming almost comic-style in their evilness.
Still, I can see why this series has been so successful. I am giving the book four stars because, with the cliffhanger ending, I know that I will eventually have to buy the third installment and find out what happened and if I care that much it can't have been all bad!
