I expected more from this book than what I received. I liked learning about real historical characters connected to the sinking of the Titanic, and I didn't even know about the court proceedings, so that was interesting. The story fell flat for me because it read like a list with its sparse descriptions (the format contributed to this as well), and the character development was minimal. I wanted to know these people, but they were all shadows of who they might have been. I wanted to love this book because I find the Titanic tragedy fascinating, and the premise of this book was good; alas, the skeletal feel of the plot and the underdeveloped characters only made it a fairly good read for me.
