Epic well researched historic masterpiece! Follett can do no wrong in my opinion. Characterization was flawless, just as I expected after reading Pillars of The Earth years ago. I learned more of WWI as a fly on the wall in so many historical cataclysmic moments and settings. The drama was compelling, the trials of the hardworking labors mistreatment's, the passions real and flawed, the bloody battlefields of chaos putting me on the edge of my seat, the politics of wealthy and hypocritical politicians made an intense read. A full scope of what spun the Earth on it's axis. All while learning of each countries strengths and weaknesses as the world was spinning out of control into a new dawn. I'm ready for another infusion into the Spanish civil war, WWI and the beginning of atomic warfare Follett style. I'm passionately awaiting Winter of the World and hope to be just as consumed as these families continue to battle to keep their dreams and heirs alive.

In the heat of battle and only about 150 pages to go to wrap up book one of The Century Trilogy. Book 2 isn't released until September. That's only 3 months to wait but will be torture for me."
