Another fine Flavia de Luce novel, the fourth in the series, takes place in her decaying ancestral home, Buckshaw, at Christmas. The author, Alan Bradley, as a marvel, the way he so convincingly inhibits the mind of a precocious eleven year-old English girl in 1950. To my knowledge he would not remember 1950, has never lived in England and has never been a girl, yet he pulls it all off so beautifully. Recommended but read the series in order for the best bang for your buck.
