An entertaining read, though I personally found it to be a bit less promising than reading the back led me to believe. Perhaps a likelier explanation for why I didn't find this quite as enjoyable as I would have thought was because I started reading it almost immediately after finishing James Rollins' The Devil Colony, and I enjoyed that one so much that it's likely anything in a similar genre would suffer by comparison. It's also clear that the novel's main characters have been developed in prior works, and that's another potential reason I couldn't quite get as into it as I would have liked.

All in all, I think this book accomplishes its main task well, with an interesting plot with plenty of action, but I just don't think it quite rises to some of the other, similar books I've read.
