The first volume had (a slight) problem with the romance and supernatural elements taking too long to build up, but this book has the opposite problem: it all happens too quickly, defying belief. The romance is flimsy, the Frankenstein backstory is a little shallow, and the plot is way too obvious. It honestly feels very similar to the plot of Twilight, but with Frankenstein monsters instead. I was greatly disappointed, given that volume 1 was actually quite good. Luckily the books don't connect to one another, which means I can choose future volumes based on the creative teams and/or concepts instead of having to read every one.
