As a disclaimer, from the description and some reviews, I thought this was going to be a more charming/light read. It surely was not what I was looking for - so take that into consideration.
I immediately connected with the main character. She is passionate, driven, and cares so much for other people - yet it's a disadvantage as she is taken for granted and walked all over. Yet, she just cannot stand to disappoint people. I get her - that's me! I was very excited to go on this journey with her, but where was it?
There are some explosive secrets in this book - tricky family dynamics and two characters redeveloping an old relationship. All of this was here in this book, yet I found it a bit lackluster.
