So, here's the deal. Prior to this book I had a lot of respect for the author, but this blew it out of the water. She seems to spend energy covering her ass even though she is not a parish priest any longer by trying to say interspiritual practice is wrong, implying that it's cultural appropriation, and the turns around trying to justify what she condemns by calling it "holy envy." That's a kettle of nonsense beneath her intellect. It's also precisely the kind of smoke and mirrors game that is causing institutional religion to implode. If members of the clergy can't be honest because they are trying to protect their career from retaliation from above, the last little silver of moral high ground has long ago been lost.
