bookshelves: 2012, audio-book, ya, dystopian, listened-to-at-work

I would never have picked up this book myself, but one of my groups picked it for the BOM. I requested the audio book and started listening to it today at work. I never even read the blurb to know what the book was about, so as I listened I was stunned.

As the story went on I kept wondering how I would react in the same situation. At times I didn't like the mom, thought she was harsh, but as time went on you realize she was forward thinking and made some really hard decisions to survive. Miranda was the same, there were times I didn't want her, but I had to realize she was 16 and her whole life changed and that in their best days, a teen is self involved, so why would that change in this situation.

When I got to the end I was really worried, worried that Miranda was going to do just what she said. I was glad to see that didn't happen.

I look forward to reading more in this series.
