really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy

Rincewind’s dreams of wizardry died the day a particularly epic spell took up residence inside his skull and scared off all the lesser cantrips. His days of laboring in obscurity as a tour guide come to an abrupt end when a malevolent new star appears in the skies over Discworld, heralding the apocalypse. Accompanied by a relentlessly optimistic tourist and his blood-thirsty luggage, an elderly hero, and a nubile virgin, Rincewind must overcome his extreme cowardice and the forces of bureaucracy to save the world’s most hilarious fantasy realm from destruction. Funny, but less focused than later books.
