If he wasn't such a good writer, I'd say Scott Snyder is starting to wear a little thin on me now. After reading a good majority of his work, you start to recognize things he falls back on as far as storytelling techniques and Severed was the first time it started to annoy me. The story is strong enough that I was able to overcome most of the flaws and I especially liked the art by Attila Futaki. This is definitely the kind of thing I would like to see more of from Snyder, but it kind of feels like he's going the other way. Definitely a worthwhile read, I just hope he's able to break free from the sort of storytelling rut he's gotten into with his recent fame.
