it was amazing

The Legacy was the perfect crime novel for me and i'm so happy that I finally decided to read it.

This is a police-procedural novel following Huldar, a detective out of his depth on his first murder case and Freyja, who works at the children's house. The first thing that really made this book stand out for me was how well developed and explored these characters are. Characters are probably the most important aspect of any book for me and Yrsa nailed it here with her character development.

Nordic Noir is a genre that tends to be well known for some gruesome deaths but the deaths here are some of the most disturbing i've read. I didn't find them to be too graphic so it didn't seem like unnecessary evil being added but it was a disturbing image nonetheless, how the author managed to come up with this I have no idea!

These elements tied together with Yrsa's incredible writing and storytelling makes for a fantastic read, and a super intriguing start to a series that has me eager to get my hands on more.
