really liked it

Fitting title of a book by the young pastor of a large church in Birmingham. He's a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Seminary. The central message of the book is that "We were settling for a Christianity that revolves around catering to ourselves when the central message of Christianity is actually about abandoning ourselves." Interesting point by Platt after he'd been at his church was that "I realized I was a megachurch leader trying to follow a minichurch leader." We have tried to make our Christian life one of 'minimal cost.' Lots of challenging ideas to make our Christian life less confortable and more 'radical.'

"God blesses His people with extravagant grace so they might extend His extravagant glory to all peoples on the earth."

"We have assigned the obligations of Christianity to a few while keeping the privileges of Christianity for us all."

"Am I a receiver or reproducer of God's Word?"

Clara Roberts I like the phrase "am I a receiver or reproducer of God's Word?'
