it was amazing

Probably the best book I've ever read about Geopolitics. It provides an insider's insight into the Serbia-Kosovo war of 1998-99 and exposes all the tragedy, Machiavellian politics and murkiness that went on in the build-up, during and after the war.

There are some damning indictments on US & Nato's foreign policy, as well as harsh realisms about the chaotic state of Milosevic's government. Will always remember one story in particular; about a child in an orphan's shelter in Belgrade (I think) who had been told by his parents that the bombs falling were the sound of a giant playing in the sky.

Moving, unbiased and dryly funny.

Jack Greenwood You had a go at Prisoners of Geography?

Jack Mckeever I haven't but Elise says it's amazing. Think her reading that inspired her to buy me this! Will have to track that down once places start distributing books again, haha.
