it was amazing
bookshelves: christianity

I learned about this book from hearing about it in Jeremy Lin's video testimony on You Tube. This is a very eye-opening book, because it challenges Christians to live out our faiths and explain to non-Christians why merely relaxing during your retirement is a waste of time. It opened my eyes to see how crazy it is to just work so I can have a great retirement relaxing and enjoying free time. Life is too precious to be wasted living independently instead of caring about the people around us. I really liked the chapters about how we can glorify Jesus with our secular work and why mission work is important. Definitely one book that I would recommend others who need direction about their career, wondering what's life purpose is, and why we have to care about missions. I was also challenged by how the book's explanation about why we ought to live a simple life instead of indulging in luxury, because we are in the war zone. It reminds me of another great book "Satan and His Kingdom." I am challenge to pray for more passion and vision after reading this book...

Favorite Quote: "So I ask, Am I fulfilling this mission best in ere in the role I now have? When the Lord calls me to give an account of my ministry in the last day, will I be able to say, 'Lord, I stayed at Bethlehem because I believed I could be most instrumental there in accomplishing your purpose to make a name for yourself among the nations, and to gather your sheep from all the peoples of the earth?'"
