I really liked this tale. It showed in great detail the various real tensions between environmentalists and traditional ranchers & cowboys in the West, including the gray area that exists between all the nuanced viewpoints. It's also a good thriller with lots of tension & a rather unexpected ending. The main character is a Wyoming game warden which is an interesting viewpoint, as well. He's a form of law enforcement but not a cop or sheriff, so it makes for some interesting play between agencies. He's also multi-faceted and so is his wife. This is my second novel in the series & I can definitely say I'm hooked. I like the characters and the Western setting & themes. Also, I was impressed with myself that I got the monkey wrench reference on the environmentalist right away, long before it was explained to the reader. (Edward Abbey reference)
