I think this may be the only book available on the history of maternity fashion. Translated from the original Italian, it covers primarily Italian fashion from the late medieval period to the mid-1980s. The illustrations are from primary sources, about half in color.

The book is heavily slanted towards the modern period. The twentieth century takes up three-quarters of the pages, and the 1950s through 1980s take up fully half of them.
