Forever,Judy Blume's most infamous book, takes a very intimate look at the relationship between a teenage girl, Katherine, and boy, Michael. When the two teens meet at a New Years Eve party, they feel a definite connection. Their relationship grows as they begin going on dates, spending time with each others' family, and eventually taking trips together. Katherine and Michael take a very interesting approach to the topic of sex. While Michael has been sexually active in the past, Katherine has not. When they do have sex, it only makes them closer. They pledge to stay together forever, after Michael gives Katherine a locket with their names inscribed in it. When they spend the summer apart, however, Katherine realizes that their relationship may not be made to last. Overall, this book provides the reader with a good example of young love.
