This is a cute story about a little goose who loves to tell big stories for his friends. Unfortunately, when he and his friends act out the stories, he insists on being the main character, because they are his stories after all. His friends eventually get tired of this, but when a wolf shows up, the stories and the friends combine to keep the goose from being lunch.
I really like Keiko Kasza's work, but this one doesn't match up to the author's best, and I'm not really sure why. I think that for me the story was over too quickly somehow, the pacing just a little too rushed in the part involving the wolf. Unlike Wolf's Chicken Stew, there was no buildup, no suspense.
Still, the artwork is beautiful, and I think that younger kids will enjoy the story.
