it was amazing

This was an amazing book. I thought it was a fiction until I looked into this book on amazon and realized its listed as a biography. I rarely come across a story so full of history and rich with characters from the past. The book brought World War II and the POW experience alive for me. This book and Matterhorn by Marlantes are the first books I read about war. Both changed my view of war forever. War is ugly and hard, it should be the last result.
