really liked it
bookshelves: a-bit-sci-fi, adventure, good-series, young-adult

Alex Rider is a fourteen year old boy who finds himself spying for MI6. The book is full of action and stuff that boys will find appealing, not the least of which is Rider's confidence, calm under pressure, and beyond-his-years repartee.

I bought the book for my 11 year old and I think he will like it. For a 40 year old it is easy reading and a simple plot. The bad guys are super-evil and more caricature than character, but I didn't care. It was a fun read. Now I have to go out and get the rest of the series. For my son, of course.
