I really like this - I was a teenager in the early 1990's and lived a watered down version of this - the city I lived in was too small and too far away to get seriously hip - but we tried! And we got the alienated youth bit right ;)

I read the special edition with the film scipt and extras - some of the extras are crackers but the film script was not worth the effort.

While being really good, it wasn't amazing - the drawing style while not derivative is represetnative of a psuedo hipster style (which fits perfectly) but doesn't stand out as special. Likewise the dialogue and situations are razor sharp observations rather than genius. To sum it up it is a exceeding well executed piss-take of adolescense that works even better 20 year down the track when you have the distance to laugh at yourself - again something not everyone can do.
