What a fun book!

I thought this was a delightful read and a great first book to the series. The reader is introduced to the Grimm family and to Ferryport Landing in a way that explains what the basis of the town is without bogging down the story.

In The Fairy-Tale Detectives we are introuduced to Sabrina and Daphne Grimm who are bing taken to live with there Grandmother Grimm, who they didn't know was alive, after there parents disappear and are presumed dead. The girls at first think their Grandmother is crazy but come to realize the truth pretty quickly, the stories they thought were fairy tales are in fact real case files and it is the Grimms job to police the Everafters, as they are called.

When there Grandmother is taken by a Giant, the girls have to rescue her. In order to do so they have quite the adventure interacting with Puck from Midsummers Night Dream, Prince Charming, Jack from Jack and the Beanstock, the 3 little pigs, Beauty and the beast, the magic mirror and the big bad wolf!
