really liked it

I didn't want to like this book. But it kept popping up in front of me everywhere I turned for a month of two and so finally I gave in, sat down, and read it. Practically in one sitting because once I started I just didn't want to put it down. At points I was in awe (not in a particularly good way) of how messed up her life was and how unimaginably unprepared she was for any of this on almost every level, and I wasn't sure I really liked her very much. But like a really good friend that you get to know over time, I got over the really bad stuff and started hoping that she was going to pull it together, not quit the pct and make it to the bridge of the gods. When she hit Oregon and made it through a bunch of the places that I had been growing up there and I saw them again through her eyes it brought me full circle and I found that I had enjoyed this journey with her. It even makes me want to go and hike some of the pct and it also makes me realize I am vastly unprepared for such a journey. Having an REI membership will surely help though.

Debbie I couldn't put it down either. I found myself cheering for her, scared to death and heartbroken! I totally choked up when she touched the bridge. Great book!
