Jenn Thorson I thought this was pretty entertaining. And it didn't take me as long to get comfortable in this world as it did Thursday Next's Eyre Affair.

Damian Trasler I'm a sucker for rewriting nursery rhymes, as I have a series of short plays called "Nursery Crimes". Jasper Fforde was once asked in an interview if he'd read my plays. He was kind enough to point out that ideas can spontaneously generate without influence or plagiarism.

I found the Thursday Next series hurt my brain. But the names were cool.

Jenn Thorson Ha, sounds like he handled that rather diplomatically. :)

Barbara I like the Next World and the Nursery Crimes world in different ways. I assigned the Eyre Affair to my students and most really liked it. The Big Over Easy was a nice diversion, and I cast Eddie Izzard as Jack. Tend to read them when I need a break.

Jenn Thorson Eddie Izzard... That just made my day. Too funny.

Barbara Wouldn't he be perfect though?

Jenn Thorson No question-- that's why I was so entertained! Delightful.

Barbara I often assigned my students particularly the lit ones a task of how you would cast the book and what promos and do you want it a miniseries or movie. Usually interesting results.
