A fun read. Having only read "In Cold Blood," it was nice to get a taste of Capote's other works. I would not quite call it a short story collection, since the only real 'short stories' are in the beginning - then followed by a 'true' crime novella - and finally by 'conversational portraits.' Each are a pleasure in their own right. I enjoyed them all - particularly the portraits concerning his cleaning lady and an afternoon with Marilyn Monroe.

A perfect palate cleanser book.
