it was amazing

Life of Pi was excellent. A very clever story, with moments of remarkable power, that strives to do more and be a philosophical musing on life, religion and the nature of storytelling. The writing is a bit heavy handed at times, but consistently clear and sure, providing a plausible, if imperfect voice for the narrator. While I found the writing overly self-conscious for my taste, Martel's achievement is to have produced a sophisticated book with a simple fairy tale heart. And it is an achievement.
