I suppose it's hard to write a story about Greek gods living in modern day London and not portray them all as one-dimensional characters. Aphrodite is a phone sex operator - sums it up right there.

There was this simplicity to the narrative that reminded me of the mass produced teen serial fiction of yesteryear, e.g., Sweet Valley, um which I loved then, probably not so much now. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Overall, I was entertained, but mildly offended. As an example: Eros' conversion to Christianity was intended to be funny I'm sure, but I thought the mockery, too blatant to be cheeky, to be in poor taste.
