An okay Young Adult SciFi. Amy is put into cryogenic hibernation to travel with her parents and others to settle a distant world, in the distant future some 300 traveling years from earth. Unfortunately, she is awaken early and almost fatally (intentionally?) into a ship world of una-ethnicity, homogeneity of appearance and thought where emotions are subdued and life is very, very regulated and Amy is very, very different from everyone else. She struggles to adjust, to protect her still frozen parents, and to find the answer to the murders of other frozen travelers, with the help of Harley, a doomed, troubled (as in emotional and non-conforming) ship crew member and Elder, the handsome future leader of the tautly controlled ship who is greatly attracted to Amy. Introduces conflicts and choices in issues of freedom and control, honesty and manipulation, self-expression and conformity, individual and society.
