This was more like 2 1/2 stars... not horrid, but not particularly amazing, either. An average read.

I quite liked Will, but Amy was sort of... colorless (really-- the author never bothers to describe her in the book, past belatedly inferring that she has red hair. The first time Will referred to her as "Red," I thought it was for her blushes, because her hair color was NEVER MENTIONED. How can you spend half a page describing dresses, and never bother to let the main character look in a mirror?)

I did like the natural-feeling and quite practical way they approached their marriage-- they actually sought out each other's opinions, and worked to find a middle ground for themselves. Will is truly a kind man, which is, I think, a seriously undervalued asset in a guy. I also heartily liked their dogged determination to prove the gossips wrong.

A decent evening's read, though I never really warmed to the heroine.
