it was amazing

This is an enjoyable visit with some old friends, and just as readable today as they were when written 100+ years ago. Fortunately, my edition is a reproduction of the original appearance in The Strand, with illuminated characters and the marvelous Sydney Paget illustrations; which is the best way to experience these stories are to be experience.

A Scandal in Bohemia deals with an embarrassing photo getting out - just as they seem to today. And who can forget poor Jabez Wilson, as he laboriously hand copies the Encyclopedia Brittanica in The Red Headed League?

These twelve short stories are just the right length to consume one per evening, just before turning out the light and falling asleep listening to the [imagined] sound of a hansom cab rolling down the cobblestones.
