it was amazing

In her attempt to aid the French Resistance, Verity is captured, and now has to write her story for the SS or face even more torture, though she knows that flat out she'll be shot at the end of it. In the course of writing her extended "confession," she tells the story of her friend, Maddie, and how she became a pilot in wartime Britain, and how the two became friends. Their experiences during the war, and what happens to both of them is a powerful, well-told, and haunting novel. It will stick with me for a long, long time and I highly, highly recommend it.
