bookshelves: motivation, science

This book and its illustrations are very plain and simple. There are not many words per page and it is not colorful. It could teach children a lesson on staying motivated when they have a goal in mind.

Extension Activity: I would provide the tools and supplies for the children to plant a vegetable. I would give them two choices to choose from, such as tomatoes and green beans. As time goes on and they care for their plants some will grow faster than others. I will keep refering to this book and how the character stayed encouraged no matter how slow his plant grew.
